Keyboard Shortcuts
Today's tip is keyboard shortcuts. The CTRL key on the keyboard
works in conjunction with many of the other keys on the keyboard to save you
time and keystrokes. Those of you using the Microsoft keyboard will notice the
star on the CTRL key, and a corresponding star on many of the keys on the
keyboard. The most often used of these shortcuts are:
- CTRL C - copy
- CTRL V - paste
- CTRL X - cut
These shortcuts take the place of using the mouse to click edit/copy or
edit/paste. In future tips, I will give you some ideas about novel ways to take
advantage of copying and pasting.
Other shortcuts available are:
- CTRL B - boldface selection
- CTRL N - usually to create a new file, new document, new spreadsheet
- CTRL S - save
- CTRL F - find
- CTRL A - mark or select all
- CTRL Z - undo
